Welcome To The 2014/15 Season On Planet Swans

We are less than a week away from the start of a new season and you can live every moment of it here on Planet Swans with a host of stories, features and competitions that we will bring you during the course of the season - there really is only one place to keep your eyes on happenings and views from Swansea City.

As we prepare for our fourth season in the top flight, the one thing that we know people want is to hear the opinions of Swansea fans. Planet Swans has been around (in either this guise of the previous name of jackarmy.net) since 2001 and since that time has given you the news and views over what is the most exciting period ever to have been a Swans fan.

And this season we don't view it to be any different so we thought we would give you a taste of what you can expect as we set off on yet another journey as Wales only Premier League football team.

Match Reports

There are endless match reports on the Swans these days. One thing that changed dramatically when we moved into the Premier League is the amount of media coverage. We aim to make our match reports just more than factual reports of what happens - they will be littered with the views of a fan and written by a fan for a fan to read. You can also get involved in match reports by submitting your own views via our 'Your report' feature that will appear after every game has finished.

Match Previews

Again, you will read endless previews on a game so you don't want to read the same all over again somewhere else. As with the reports these will be written by a fan for a fan to read. Where did we go wrong in the last game and where do we need to get it right this time around. Just something different not a re-hash of your traditional match report that the BBC would bring you

Player Ratings

For 24-48 hours after each match we will open our player ratings feature for you to make your ratings on how you saw the Swans players perform on that day. From the good to the bad you can rate each player out of 10 and we can see how the votes compare to give us an overall man of the match for that game. As the votes come in over the course of the season we will work towards a Planet Swans player of the season voted for by the fans with their reactions after each game.

Prediction League

We all have our views of how the Swans will get in in their forthcoming games so why not make your views known by entering our free prediction league? All you have to do is submit the score for the next match together with who you think will score the Swans first goal and see how you stack up against your fellow Swans fans over the course of the season. You can enter our Prediction League here

If you Were Garry...

As with the Prediction League everyone has an opinion in terms of who the manager should pick for the next game and which formation he should pick them in. Using our Team Selector feature you can make your selections in terms of who gets picked and who will play where in that selection. We will kick it off weekly with our 'If you were Garry' article - all you have to do is pick and share your own selections.

Fan Views

We all have opinions on events at the club both on and off the pitch and here on Planet Swans we give you an opportunity to share those views. You can join our quickly expanding Blogging team and effectively have your own little corner of the site to share your views. All you need to be is a registered member of the site and drop an email to phil@planetswans.co.uk with your email address and we will do the rest to activate your blogging section. Swansea City : Has Andrew Coleman been in the shower for three months with Bobby Ewing ?
The changing timeline of when Andrew Coleman became Chairmen of Swansea City caused a stir yesterday, our twitter account getting well over eleven thousand views and increasing, which sent website views here in to their many thousands as well.
Swans supporters consult Kieran Maguire and when did Andy start as Chairman ?
News of Swansea City’s financial position hit home yesterday as the club announced further losses. The profit and sustainability rules are forever hanging over a club, and in Swansea City’s case like everyone else it’s a rolling three year issue.
Gwyn’s Eye View : Swansea City v Millwall
Glyn is back with his favourite stats as we build up to the last game of the season. That comes in the form of Millwall who it seems are close to selling their requested 1,148 allocation, so its down to the Jack Army to do their bit this bank holiday weekend.
The fate today’s Swansea footballers would never have to endure
Swansea City bring this season to a close on Saturday with a home game against Millwall. However, what about those bygone days when footballers had no choice but to go down the pit after their career ended, or open a toy shop, pub or retrain ? That thought would petrify todays modern footballer.
Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
Norwich City 2 - 2 Swansea City - Player Ratings and Reports
If you saw the match, please give us your player ratings and a mini match report.
TEAM NEWS : Norwich City v Swansea City
The Swans are on the Norfolk Broads, punting and boating their way to the end of the season. Hopefully the city of Norwich is obliging.
Swansea City : Jack Army travel over 1,000 miles for two games in succession
Swansea City have set out on their second long distance away trip in two weekends, this time to Norwich for todays clash between the Swans and Canaries (3pm) Over the last ten meetings between the clubs Swansea City have won five times, Norwich the same.
Cardiff City fan sends tragedy tweet directed at dead Swansea City fan Terry Coles
As a result of the news reported by Sky on Wednesday that five military horses had escaped and ran through central London, a Cardiff City follower thought it wise to relate the incident to the death of Swansea fan Terry Coles, 42.
