Midland Bainker?

Surely Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's progress in the East Midlands hasn't gone unnoticed?

Could Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink be set for a shock return to Elland Road?

Our former striker, who left under a bit of a cloud in 1999, is now managing homely Burton Albion and after just four-months at the helm following Gary Rowetts move to Birmingham City the Brewers sit pretty at the top of League Two five-points clear and on course to make up for their play-off final heartache last year.

Critics will argue that in essence it's Rowett's team but there is a growing groundswell of opinion amongst regulars at the Pirelli Stadium that Burton is a stepping stone for Jimmy and should a bigger job come up then he'd be off. Jimmy was apparently interested in succeeding Darko Milanic but the club turned to Neil Redfearn.

Maybe the locals are resigned to this happening yet again? because after all, they lost Rowett to Birmingham and before that Nigel Clough went to Derby when they were fighting to get out of the Conference in 2009.

Neil Redfearns future is up in the air again with no contract talks confirmed, the former academy coach was appointed head-coach until the end of the season following Milanic's disastrous spell in charge. I suppose much of it hinges on whether or not Massimo Cellino sells the club or not however we need a decision on Redfearn sooner rather than later.

As for Jimmy, would we welcome back the man dubbed as "greedy" by former boss David O'Leary when he snubbed a new deal to stay at Leeds in favour of moving to Atletico Madrid and has he got enough experience to handle a job as big as Leeds?

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
