Swans And West Ham Linked With Mexico Star
I know I will be glad when the transfer window shuts because no matter how many times Garry Monk suggests that the Swans have probably completed their transfer business then we are linked with another player.
In fairness I guess the manager has said that you can never say never but he talks up so often the fact that he now has the competition for places that he wants and I just cannot see new players coming in at the moment unless of course there was a departure somewhere.
Today's papers are linking us and West Ham with a move for Raul Jimenez from Athletico Madrid.
The Sun (yes, we know!) claims that the Swans are ready to make a loan move for the 24-year-old striker.
At that point you could almost understand it but then it goes onto claim that we will only be interested if we can sell Michu this summer. That for me would file it under the rubbish category given the fact that Michu has not been here for 18 months in reality and we have stated he isn't part of our squad for next season.
Therefore if we were looking to replace him with someone like Jimenez then we would have done so already rather than waiting until late on in the window to get the business done.
Interesting to read but total fabrication for me.

Swansea City : Jesurun Rak-Sakyi update and Josh Key back up named You won’t get anything of note from a football club during any transfer window unless it comes with a caveat that it is in their interest for certain things to be mentioned, proposed or even disregarded as a result of information given. Swansea City have a very tight unit of those who have access to information and any leak is easily traced.
Big match report : Swans let it slip again at MillwallIt happens a lot would be the recollection from the Sheehan era. Unfortunately It still happens is the comment on Vitor Matos’s stewardship to date. And that’s conceding goals at the end of games and halves. Having got themselves into a position to take a point away from the New Den an added time winner from Millwall undone all the Swans hard work.
Millwall v Swans plus player in Swansea for talks The Swans travelled from Swansea to their overnight accommodation prior to taking on Millwall at the New Den tomorrow (3pm) - today. A fully confident squad with more wins than losses in December. Then of course the opening game of the new year on January 1st saw the Swans defeat WBA 1-0.
Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies There were some worried looks when Swansea head coach, Vitor Matos announced his starting eleven against West Bromwich Albion, not least the fact he had no striker in the team. It turned out to be a masterstroke despite a fifteen minute period in the second half, and some uneasy moments at the end of this Championship fixture.
