Goals Target For Gylfi

If we had one first team regular who has not started the season in the high standard of form that we have come to expect from him is Gylfi Sigurdsson, but that is not tempering his confidence as he reveals his goals target for the new season.

Sigurdsson has just not clicked into form at all this season which is in total contrast to last season where he was scoring and creating freely at this stage of the season.

The old adage of "form is temporary and class is permanent" though we know to be true and Gylfi is a class act and always will be. For me it will only take one deflected shot to go in or one defence splitting pass to Gomis and the confidence will be high and the Swans will benefit from his class once more.

The good news is though that the player himself does not seem worried by his lack of form and is confident that he will come good as he reveals his target for the season.

"I haven't had too many chances,” he said. "I had a chance against United and a few at Hull which was good, but someone (Curtis Davies) blocked one on the line.

"It's not falling for me at the moment. But soon one will go off the post or off the guy's foot and in and the goals will start coming. That's the way it is.

"I went through six or seven games without scoring last year and it's still early in the season.

"I feel I can still score 10 or 15 goals this year, I just need to get on that run.

"It's frustrating, of course, but I know I just have to keep working hard and if I do that it will come. Whether it's scruffy or a good one, the goal just has to come.”

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
