Clement On "The 90 Minute Performance"

When your side wins at Liverpool then you know that the views of the manager are going to be extremely complimentary and more so for Paul Clement after he became the first Swans boss to lead his side to a league victory at the famous ground.

Clement watched his side record a second successive away league win, a win that lifted them out of the bottom three, to upset the form book and increase the belief that we could stay up this season.

It was only the Swans fifth win of the season and the first against any of the sides currently in the top half of the table which tells its own story as to the Swans struggles this season.

Two goals from Fernando Llorente and one from Gylfi Sigurdsson gave the Swans the three points they so desperately needed and continued some of the positives that we took from last week - despite the 0-4 scoreline against Arsenal.

And Clement was quick to point out that it was the culmination of what they have been working on during the week when he spoke to the press after the game

"We have talked all along about getting some performances, and today we produced a real 90-minute performance,” Clement said.

"We defended well, we took our opportunities on set-plays and we looked dangerous on the counter.
"This kind of performance can give everybody a big lift and help their confidence.

"The confidence of this team has been down at times and they have been criticised for not being able to respond when they have gone behind.

"We didn’t go behind today, but we had a difficult moment in the game when we conceded two goals quickly to make it 2-2.

"At that point the crowd lifted and gave Liverpool extra energy, so it was very pleasing to take another opportunity on the counter-attack and then see the game through.

"The players showed the character they have at 2-2 and that’s a big positive for us."

Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
