Hoedt Says His Goodbyes And Heads To England

According to press reports in Italy Wesley Hoedt has said his goodbyes to his Lazio team mates and headed to Southampton.

Football-italia.net are reporting that Wesley Hoedt has said his goodbyes to his team mates at Lazio and has headed to England with Southampton the destination.

They are saying that Saints have met the asking price that the player and his agent agreed with Lazio yesterday and he is now set to have a medical today at Southampton.

The reported asking price is said to be 15 million Euros plus add ons in a deal worth 17 million euros to Lazio in total.

The Dutch central defender is 23 and stands at around 6ft 4 inches in height, he started at his hometown club AZ Alkmaar before joining Lazio in the summer of 2015.

He has made 48 appearances for Lazio in Serie A in his two seasons and made his debut back in March for the Dutch International side and subsequently winning another 3 caps before the end of the season.

He seems to be the type of central defender Saints like to go for, someone just under the radar of the big clubs and available at a reasonable fee.

Hoedt's arrival will be a much needed one for Saints with a lack of any real premier league quality in central defence, clear for all too see especially with Virgil Van Dijk still in full strop mood away from the first team picture.

Saints are yet again showing their quality in the transfer market, to get great value deals in what is a highly inflated market this summer.

Hoedt will provide the physical and aerial attributes the current side is currently lacking, with his aerial duels success rate last season standing at an impressive 86.6% he is also known for being very comfortable with the ball at his feet.

The main success possibly bar Josh Tymon has been Ronald over the last five months of the season. Without doubt a raw talent still, his impact in a number of Swansea games last season was exciting and game changing. We had a lengthy chat with a journalist who supports this site and one of the staff at the club. A fairly key member in the decision making tree as well.
Will the Swans learn from their mistakes ?
He’s back because he’s a Jack, the Butty man reappears, the snivelling skurvied outcast clinging to life like the barnacle he is. A salt ridden death reincarnated, yes, just like the club he supports from two hundred years ago, now called Swansea it was then called something else …
