Clement - We Know What We Need
Having watched his side crushed by Manchester United you would expect Paul Clement to be a little down when he faced the press after the game at the Liberty especially when he was asked about transfer targets.
Clement has some money burning a hole in his pocket following the midweek sale of Gylfi Sigurdsson and it is very clear that the money needs to be spent to get the replacements in that we desperately need.
Clement is aware of that and says that the board and he are on the same wavelength in terms of what is needed to strengthen the squad as we enter the last ten days of the transfer window.
Clement said: "The moment Gylfi’s going you know you need to do strengthen. Without him, Llorente, Ki... when they’re out we are weaker.
"We still have a good squad, but absolutely more quality players have to come in so we have a chance of being competitive. The situation is fluid, texts, e-mails are going back and fore, and we hope that by the deadline - or the sooner the better - we can get it done.
"The necessity is there, it’s clear, and it’s a view shared by others in the club.
"Last week I was more disappointed with the performance than the result
"Today I’m more disappointed with the result than some of things I’ve seen. I was happy with some of the things defensively, not so happy offensively.
"We went a goal down and tried to do something about it but we got punished and it’s hard to take.”

The fate today’s Swansea footballers would never have to endure Swansea City bring this season to a close on Saturday with a home game against Millwall. However, what about those bygone days when footballers had no choice but to go down the pit after their career ended, or open a toy shop, pub or retrain ? That thought would petrify todays modern footballer.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and
wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
Swansea reject Cullen contract and trigger one year option Liam Cullen has had his request for a new contract dismissed by Swansea City after discussions broke down last week. The lowest paid ‘senior’ player at the club ( he is twenty five) asked for a better contract increasing his £3,500 a week to around £7,000 a week over three years.
Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
