Reports: Chelsea 'Close' To A Deal For Llorente

If you were a Chelsea fan right now I am not sure you would be overly pleased with the signings you were being linked with as today's papers report that a deal for Fernando Llorente could be added to one for Danny Drinkwater before the window closes.

The Blues have long since been chasing Llorente with a move made in the January transfer window and knocked back leaving Llorente to score plenty in the second half of the season as we successfully avoided relegation.

This time around we are yet to see the Spanish striker thanks to the broken arm he suffered in a non football related accident during the summer.

It has been reported throughout this window that Chelsea were ready to make another move for the striker but are yet to make anything official although this is expected to happen quite possibly today.

The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are ready to pay £15m to secure the services of Llorente but the Swans are reluctant to sell until they tie up their own deal to bring Wilfried Bony back to the Liberty.

That deal also has not come to fruition yet although various outlets have reported a fee being agreed and Bony keen to complete a move back to South Wales, two and a half years after he left.

For the Champions the pursuit of a 31 year old striker and a midfielder who is not as good as any that they have seems a little odd but ours is not to reason why as we look certain to lose Llorente and see Wilfried Bony back in a Swans shirt before the window closes.

Swansea City : The facts on players in and out and the strategy behind it
This week has seen some bad financial news for the Swans, and of course more questions than answers yet again. That aside there is some great news from the age grade side at U21 as once again we see a player knocking on the door of the first team squad.

Gwyn’s Eye View : Swansea City v Millwall
Glyn is back with his favourite stats as we build up to the last game of the season. That comes in the form of Millwall who it seems are close to selling their requested 1,148 allocation, so its down to the Jack Army to do their bit this bank holiday weekend.
The fate today’s Swansea footballers would never have to endure
Swansea City bring this season to a close on Saturday with a home game against Millwall. However, what about those bygone days when footballers had no choice but to go down the pit after their career ended, or open a toy shop, pub or retrain ? That thought would petrify todays modern footballer.
Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
