Saints Latest Injury News ! Austin Could Return
Charlie Austin could return to action for Saints against Burnley on Saturday after returning to training on Wednesday Mauricio Pellegrino has confirmed.
Mauricio Pellegrino has spoken to the press about his squad's injuries ahead of the visit of Burnley on Saturday and it's good and bad news with Charlie Austin likely to be in contention for at least a place on the bench whilst Mario Lemina will still be missing.
The manager said.
"Mario continues in his treatment, I would expect after the international break maybe Mario can train with the team.
"But Charlie is training with us, yesterday and today. He was training well, but it’s just Mario that is the only one that is out of the squad.”
IT is good news about Austin, Pellegrino has few attacing options at present so having Austin back will be a bonus and offer him variations that he didn't have at Brighton.
The loss of Lemina is far less a blow with so many central midfield options to hand and against a Burnley side who are not prolific scorers away from home, Pellegrino might not have wanted to play his two defensive midfielders anyway, so resting our summer signing could mean a more attacking formation is forced upon the manager.
Otherwise it seems that Pellegrino has a full squad to choose from although the likes of Matt Targett and Josh Sims are probably not yet ready to return to the matchday squad.
