Lets Do Wednesday on Saturday instead

All matters FA Cup will be put to one side for a few weeks now as we look to get another league win to move ourselves back towards the play off spots which have started looking just a little bit out of our reach in recent weeks.

Our form since the turn of the year has been pretty good in all fairness with defeats being few and far between but we should also remember that after two away defeats on the bounce we have not won on on the road since the 5th January (Villa in the FA Cup) or 1st January in the league (Reading)

We go into this game in 13th place but level on points with Villa who are 10th and the league remains very much there for a side to come through with a run of form to push themselves up towards the play off spaces.

That said there are nine points between us and Bristol City who currently occupy the last play off space so that run needs to start soon enough if we are going to close the gap particularly as we enter the last quarter of the season.

Our FA Cup run could count against us although the two games we have had to move are both home games (Brentford and Derby) but it does mean that games will come thick and fast over the last two months of the season.

Nathan Dyer (hamstring), Declan John (ankle) and Wayne Routledge (calf) will all return from injuries but we have to wait one more week for Leroy Fer to be back to full fitness and he is expected to feature against Bolton next weekend.

As ever we have teamed up with BetUK to look at the best potential bets for this game

1. Bersant Celina is a man on form and it seems reasonable to think that the form could continue against Wednesday. He can be backed at 3/1 to score at any time and right now it feels like he could score at any time...

2. We can see this game ending in a draw which in itself doesn't always scream value but in a correct score market there could be some value in a 2-2 draw which is available at 9/1. Add that to Celina to score any time and you have a nice double...

3. Penalty. We have a habit of getting a few of these these days so the 25/4 that we will get a penalty seems to offer some more value. Lump on. If you want to...

The fate today’s Swansea footballers would never have to endure
Swansea City bring this season to a close on Saturday with a home game against Millwall. However, what about those bygone days when footballers had no choice but to go down the pit after their career ended, or open a toy shop, pub or retrain ? That thought would petrify todays modern footballer.
Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate
He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
