Will The Baggies Bounce Back?

The Swans are back on the road this evening at West Brom looking to halt a run of away runs that has seen us lose four on the bounce on our travels.

Friday night's 1-0 defeat at Norwich made it just one point from the last fifteen available away from the Liberty with no away league victory recorded since we destroyed Reading on the opening day of the year.

There was plenty of positives to be taken from that defeat on Friday certainly in the first half performance but ultimately the result was the same as it was against Bristol City, Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday before it.

With West Brom having departed company with Darren Moore at the weekend despite their fourth place in the league they will be looking to put their own indifferent form behind them and secure the play off place as a minimum with the top two places now seemingly looking like a battle between just three clubs.

Former Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is in the frame for the main job at the Hawthorns but first-team coach Jimmy Shan is at the helm, pending what is expected to be a quick appointment of Moore's successor.

The Swans will again be without Oli McBurnie who missed out through illness so expect a similar line up to that which faced Norwich last weekend although it could well be that Graham Potter retains one eye on Saturday's FA Cup quarter final against Man City which could impact his team selection.

And whilst our away form is poor we should also remember that West Brom haven't won at home in the league since Boxing Day so that, given our habit of ending bad runs, almost says home win all over it!!

As ever we have trawled through the odds available for the game and have the three below for the game.

1. In the absence of Oli then Dan James could start up front and with that being the case then odds of 11/1 to score first or 7/2 to score at any time feels like good value

2. We don't have a good track record at the moment away from home and whilst that means its not long odds, 5/9 on West Brom to score first feels like the only option for first goal

3. We can't win away, they can't win at home - 1-1 therefore feels like a strong possibility, 6/1 if you fancy that to be the case

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
