Steve Cooper - We have achieved nothing yet

A delighted Steve Cooper was interviewed post match after the 2-2 draw at Reading which ensured Swansea City are in the play offs.

It was a good game for sure, disappointed at the end not to win the game. If there is ever a game to be happy with a draw this is it. The play offs are not an achievement we are bigger than that, Swansea have much better history than that. We haven’t got a massive squad, but we have sprit, pride and good leaders. We haven’t spent much since I’ve been here, that’s for sure, we are a small group but we have total commitment. With Andre he thrives on being the big player, he puts everything first regards the team. Our consistency over the last month hasn’t been what it should have been, no disrespect to the boys. The fact is we have been straight back at it here since lockdown, we have a strong performing culture. We have the attitude and spirit, there’s nothing wrong if I demand more than before, that’s winning. We have two games left to finish as high as we can, that’s the aim then it’s the play offs, we are there, but nowhere near seeing it as an achievement just yet.

Swansea City have a very tight unit of those who have access to information and any leak is easily traced.
Big match report : Swans let it slip again at Millwall
It happens a lot would be the recollection from the Sheehan era. Unfortunately It still happens is the comment on Vitor Matos’s stewardship to date. And that’s conceding goals at the end of games and halves. Having got themselves into a position to take a point away from the New Den an added time winner from Millwall undone all the Swans hard work.

On the treatment table this afternoon have been Ronald (ankle / lower leg) Josh Key (foot injury) Adam Idah (long term hamstring) Ethan Galbraith (slight hamstring tweak) and Liam Cullen who is expected back for Birmingham City. That’s the latest, but things change.
Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies
There were some worried looks when Swansea head coach, Vitor Matos announced his starting eleven against West Bromwich Albion, not least the fact he had no striker in the team. It turned out to be a masterstroke despite a fifteen minute period in the second half, and some uneasy moments at the end of this Championship fixture.
