With Wednesdays game against Turkey being played in temperatures of 30c plus the Wales squad have been training in similar heat in preparation for the game. Also in preparation for the Italy game on the weekend the squad are on UK time to enable an easy transition to the final game of Group A.
As can see from the footage below this intensity isn’t much different to normal preparation training, but the last thing Robert Page needs is the fatigue suffered in the second half on Saturday afternoon.
Rumours are that Roberts will keep his place at the back, however there will possibly be a place for Neco Williams and a back five with wing backs may be employed in a bid to put the Turks away in double quick time in Baku.
Robert Page is also looking ahead to the second game of the group, and potentially one Wales must win if Italy is to be a less pressurised game on Sunday. Italy will be outrageously placed as favourites. "I grew up in Tylorstown in the valleys,” said Page to UEFA.com in a recent interview. "So, I played football as a schoolboy and then progressed through the youth age groups with Wales and then went on to play for the seniors. To now manage them is a dream come true. It’s a very proud moment, of course, and to take them into a major tournament is extra special. We’ve got a great group of staff with us and a great group of players that I love working with. Joe Rodon told the FAW and BBC he too was incredibly focussed on Wednesdays game. Around 35,000 Turkish fans are set to attend the match, compared to a few hundred Welsh supporters ( est 650 ). "We are all excited, we cannot wait," the Es Swansea City player said. "The natural reaction after a loss is always going to be to come out fighting for the next one and we need to be ready for that. But it is the same for us, we want to win as well. It is going to be a difficult game but we are looking forward to the challenge." Wales' opening game was watched by a crowd of 8,782 with the "Red Wall" making their voices heard over a clutch of Swiss supporters. On Lille dangerman Yilmaz, "Turkey having him is going to be a big challenge for us but we can only be excited and look forward to Wednesday," he said. On Moore, Rodon was impressed with his performance on Saturday. "Kieffer has scored some important goals of us in this campaign. He is an important player for us we are just delighted to have him here and hopefully he can keep putting them in for the team,"
