It was another win but it didn’t come easy after a very convincing start at the swansea.com stadium. The swans were on a high after a great week of putting plans from the training ground on to the pitch and very expertly as well.

During the week Swansea City scored seven goals in those three games with only one in reply, a penalty scored by Derby County yesterday.

Here are the clubs extended highlights.

Two lovely goals there from Joel Piroe who continues to impress as he has done for the majority of the season. Speaking after the game he said "I believed in myself. I knew I could score goals I just needed the chance to play a lot of games,” said Piroe, whose tally is all the more impressive given it does not include any penalties. I think I’ve showed what I can do now and the team is showing what we can do. The next target is to go on, keep winning games and see where it ends. We can finish the season well. We’ve shown that the game plan works and that we’ve got the courage and technique to do it. We just need to keep matching the intensity and get good results. I think we played really well in this game — especially at the start and we’re really happy to finally win three games in a row.”

It’s great to hear from a young man who is now after a few years out of sight becoming confident and happy with his lot in west Wales.

Post match Russell Martin was clearly impressed with the most successful week he has had since taking charge at Swansea. Here is his post match press conference.

Once again the swans had to endure the incredible behaviour of referee Tim Robinson, a man who either supports Fulham or has an amazing bias towards them as the swans and many other clubs have discovered in recent years. He has a long trail behind him of utterly baffling decisions and he made more yesterday. A cynical foul by the Derby keeper on Jamie Paterson should have seen a red preventing a clear goal scorning chance, and that handball was so obvious and a penalty shout for the swans. The fortieth league game this season Swansea City have not been awarded a penalty.

It’s got to the situation now where nobody knows who actually takes the penalties.

But seriously, with people like Tim Robinson spoiling peoples enjoyment on a Saturday afternoon like he did yesterday it makes you wonder if there is any real assessment and feedback of championship referees, because this lad is diabolical.

Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies
There were some worried looks when Swansea head coach, Vitor Matos announced his starting eleven against West Bromwich Albion, not least the fact he had no striker in the team. It turned out to be a masterstroke despite a fifteen minute period in the second half, and some uneasy moments at the end of this Championship fixture.
