Atalanta to seek talks on Joel Piroe ?

Atalanta BC will be looking for a replacement for their twenty year old striker Rasmus Højlund with the Danish international all but agreed to a move to Old Trafford for ninety million euros. The Nerazzurri have been linked with interest in Joel Piroe of late and we reported recently their interest in the Swans striker.

The low down on the initial interest and the positives of a move to Atalanta BC is right here —> Piroe and the Italian interest

That was over three weeks ago.

Højlund Only signed for Atalanta last year for seventeen million euros, so the profit is astonishing for a player who appeared only thirty four times in all competitions last season scoring ten goals. They now only have Adebola Lookman as a goal threat and his contribution of fifteen goals last season needs adding to for sure. Yes, they have El Bilal Touré but he is untested at the highest level scoring just seven times last season in La Liga. That’s where the interest in Piroe will start, speaking to some supporters of the website the real issue for Joel is his all round game which by all accounts swayed Everton away from pursuing his signature, at least for now.

Regardless of Swans fans and the wider media’s thoughts on Joel Piroe staying or leaving Swansea there will be interest in him this month before the transfer window ends. The club really do want to move him on with his contract up next summer, and his asking price is a drop in the ocean for the likes of Atalanta. Their turnover is well over a hundred million a year. Centre forward El Bilal Touré has come in for the Italian side from UD Almería in Spain, but for a concerted effort at the top two Serie A places and a Europa League challenge they will want to invest further.

We all know there will be more news on Piroe as the transfer window draws closer, and let’s be honest we all know the club would prefer a transfer in the coming weeks.
