Cullen rumours in amongst Swansea City selection v Coventry

Liam Cullen is rumoured to be the target of a few rival Championship clubs but Swansea City have not entered in to any real dialogue regards the player. That could change if his agent at CAA base gets more press on his clients availability.

Liam’s contract is up at the end of this season so it’s not at all surprising ‘certain elements’ attached to Cullen are busying themselves earning him column inches. That shouldn’t affect his inclusion this afternoon for the Sky Bet Championship fixture against Coventry City. The only possible change today could be Charlie Patino who could come in for Ollie Cooper, or indeed Jay Fulton could step down to give Duff a more dynamic looking, but less robust midfield.

Liam Cullen ( above ) has a decent goal return compared to matches played for the Swans over the past year, and Swans head coach Michael Duff has already commented that he believes there will be players in and out over the coming weeks.

Jerry Yates scored last time out in the league at home against Birmingham City and is expected to start with Joel Piroe who didn’t impress Michael Duff last week at West Bromwich Albion. The Swans boss did comment that he does deserve a ‘day off’ every now and again but the focus will most certainly be on the Dutchman to put a lot more effort in this afternoon. The team game that Duff thrives on requires all of his starting eleven to be available to work throughout their time on the pitch.

There’s no room for anything other than that.

This is the third league game of the season for Swansea City with a draw and a loss behind them. Games don’t come much tougher than Coventry City in the Championship so we look forward to team selections at 2pm.
