Swansea very keen on Davis ‘Watson given the go ahead’
Aston Villa have made twenty five year old Keinan Davis available for transfer and numerous clubs have shown interest in the player who prefers a striking role in what has been described as a ‘two’ in attack. Hull City looked pretty certain to get the Stevenage born player, but the Swans have interrupted the process now Joel Piroe has left the club.
Swansea City have long had an interest in Davis, that goes back some years as we reported last month on the Indy.
That’s here —> Swans target Davis
Swans fans will be happy to see money being spent wisely by the club, and Sporting Director Paul Watson has succession planned purchases in numerous cases this transfer window, and this is another prime example. Davis has played in the premier league and was at Watford on loan last season, however his goal return is minimal for a central attacking player. That aside his qualities are his strength, ball retention and pace which will most certainly will provide immediate results in the attacking department at Swansea. It should be noted though Davis scored five times in fifteen outings for Nottingham Forest during their promotion campaign whilst out on loan.
Hull City were believed to have secured Davis last week but the deal stalled on an agreement to reach personal terms. If that’s an issue for Hull the Swans could well face the same dilemma. There is a more flexible wage structure this season at Swansea and Davis will demand a salary in the upper echelons of the clubs budget. Two and a half million pounds will secure the player, and we have been told negotiations could be swift. That is if the salary demands can be met.
More on this as we get it.
