Swans battle cry for Hornets visit

There’s a strong desire to put right the result of Saturday tonight at the Swansea.Com Stadium. Watford are the visitors and three points are most certainly required by the Swans.

Bashir Humphreys is determined to give the Jack Army something to shout about this evening after the disappointment of Saturday and the 3-1 loss to Leicester City. "It’s always hard to lose a game of football. But when you lose yet you work so hard, and you’ve stuck together, it gives you positivity for the next game. I think it’s important to get back to winning ways because we were on such a good run before the international break and sometimes when you get to that two weeks off you almost don’t want it to happen.

Humphreys has most certainly found his feet in the Championship and is now getting starts in games at centre back alongside Harry Darling. The Swans strength is their defence this season. With Nathan Wood out until the end of the year and Ben Cabango in recovery from an injury against Norwich City Bashir is a welcome addition to the defensive line. It could be that Cabango will find this game a bit too soon to make any comeback although his recovery from his hamstring strain has been rapid. He will face a fitness test this afternoon.

The remarkable turnaround by Michael Duff’s men with just the one loss in their previous six outings puts them well in to the top six on current Championship form. The Swans are above both Leeds United and Southampton who are fancied promotion contenders this season.

That turnaround is echoed by Humphreys. "We know we can perform well against a team full of Premier League quality players, so if we can keep performing to the same level we have been we’ll win games. We always have to have confidence going into games, and we’ll be approaching this one doing what we do and hopefully we can get the result."

Michael Duff faces the cameras later on today and we will cover everything on that pre match as it happens. Tickets for tonight’s game are still available. Kick off is 7.45pm. The game is an available on the Sky Sports red button.

Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies
There were some worried looks when Swansea head coach, Vitor Matos announced his starting eleven against West Bromwich Albion, not least the fact he had no striker in the team. It turned out to be a masterstroke despite a fifteen minute period in the second half, and some uneasy moments at the end of this Championship fixture.
