Swans transfer window : Corey Blackett-Taylor Interest explained & Chris Conn-Clarke

Swansea City have been credited with interest in current Charlton Athletic forward, Corey Blackett-Taylor for at least four years. Initially whilst at Tranmere Rovers in 2020, and on various occasions since.

A slew of websites talked about Hull City and the Swans being interested in October last year ( you will always get Hull City and Swans linked these days it seems ) and yes there is some detail in some of the information that is accurate. Paul Watson has been sourcing players, capably alongside Josh Marsh, the majority in league one are those who Watson feels may fit the bill for the Swans. There are dozens of players that the Swans have approached (agents Inc) regards a glimpse in to certain players preferences for clubs come the end of their contracts.

This is competent evidence gathering.

We have no doubt that Corey Blackett-Taylor has been the subject of an inquiry, a telephone call, a more imaginative contact, or whatever else you want to suggest. The Swans as Andrew Coleman has already told us have been ‘working hard’ for months. The latest we can say is that Corey Blackett-Taylor is expected to leave Charlton Athletic, if not this month then in the summer. He won’t be renewing his contract and that’s a guarantee. ( Indy source )

Corey is an athletic player, very much in the Yannick Bolasie mould, obviously far younger at twenty six but his build and pace is impressive. He has enjoyed a half season where he has scored eight league goals, primarily from the wings and assisted seven goals as well. He has taken quite a while to gain the attention of Championship clubs. Then there’s Derby County in League One which we are told was his preferred choice. However, the lure of the Championship, be that at Hull, Swansea or Millwall - all who have credible interest in him could be too much to ignore. As a Handsworth ( Birmingham ) product, his next location could determine his final choice of club.

You can’t argue with the reality, Corey Blackett-Taylor may well be the answer to improve the threat the Swans really need from the wings. It could well spell an end to Yannick’s time at the club come the end of the month too. Corey will be cheaper salary wise and he does have many attributes that will make the Swans more attractive to watch.

However, ( according to @TransferCentre9 on Twitter ) as we move in to day twelve of the window there’s nothing concrete from us, bar the reported signing this weekend of twenty two year old Chris Conn-Clarke. The Altrincham midfielder ‘seems’ to have agreed to join the Swans but his experience has been limited to the National League and the League Of Ireland mainly. However, the Northern Ireland U21 International has found his feet at Altrincham and has had a very good season to date scoring thirteen goals from midfield. That’s in twenty five appearances. As stated his preference is midfield but he has featured a couple of times up front for his current club.

The latest from the account mentioned is that Chris Conn-Clarke agreed terms yesterday evening and will go through a medical today. If all goes well he will sign a contract until Summer 2026.

Editors note : @TransferCenre9 hasn’t got a proven track record at this moment in time.
