Swansea City in desperate rush to sign more players

Ideally these things are done and dusted by this time of the January transfer window. Unfortunately with players not liking their terms to come to west Wales along with the clubs current perilous state things are not that easy. Luke Williams went a long way to explain this on Tuesday.

With two transfer targets already out of the running, and Ryan Giles of Luton Town now on loan at Hull City being a prime example, the Swans are chasing three players before Thursday’s 11pm deadline - there is still hope of more players to come. We genuinely believe a transfer out or two could still be in the clubs plans. The players targeted are a defender, midfielder and another wide / forward player. Standard Liege forward Romain Mundle chose Sunderland over the Swans this week, wether that is a move we may live to regret is in the ‘time will tell’ basket.

That’s here —> Luke explains

News on Harry Darling today will become clearer later after some in-depth investigations on his leg injury from last nights game. The Swans now have Azeem Abdulai, Liam Walsh, Jamal Lowe, Josh Ginnelly, potentially Harry Darling, Josh Key and Sam Parker all out for this weekends home game against Plymouth Argyle (KO:3pm) Added to that Nathan Tjoe-A-On and Nathaniel Ogbeta out on loan already and Jerry Yates alongside Mykola Kuharevich (club spelling) in the news for possible loans or permanent sales the squad is getting thinner, in fact eleven players are in doubt to be available or even at the club come Friday.

Frenzy, flurry or just loads of worry ?

That’s pretty alarming given the Swans current form and Luke Williams still looking for his first league win since he came to the club. There simply has to be more business, it’s bare bones time. If the club are as unsuccessful as they have been this month then that word ‘relegation’ will start to reappear.

We have some work to do, in fact everyone has, but the outcome has now to be positive. More as soon as it surfaces.

With the Swans retained list about to be named, generally around the 18th of the month, we take a look at those who stay, and their value to the club. The players who have the determination to turn next season in to more than a passing parade and a dismal home loss record.
Swansea City : The confusing decision making for a whole season
It was a pretty poor end to what can only be described as a disappointing football season for Swansea City. The defeat to Millwall yesterday was a display that has frustrated Swansea City supporters all season. A lack of effort, intensity and desire rewarding the home support with yet another home loss.
