Swansea City : The vision is clearer, so Jamal Lowe ?

There were some worrying moments for the Swans yesterday, on three occasions mistakes from playing out from the back nearly saw the home side score. And is there now a case for Jamal Lowe to be offered a contract at Swansea ?

Luke Williams was pleased, any manager would be after a 4-0 away win, but he did acknowledge these mistakes which really must be eradicated. The Swans problem as well comes from losing points from advantageous positions. Below you can see how many. Not yesterday though, after the first goal it looked game over. It was a pretty comprehensive lesson in counter attacking football.

That’s where the season has been lost for the Swans and surely the coaching of the side was telling the squad to defend when ahead. Unlike yesterday when the players went for the throat. However, the mistakes in the second half especially were alarming at times.

⚽️ That’s here -

For evidence of the issues that Luke has to work on, and of course indeed to marvel at some of those Swans goals yesterday which included huge input from Jamal Lowe, see below.

In Jamal Lowe’s case we have reported this season the main issue will be his salary, we understand it isn’t as high as people think, however the Swans are pushing their salary output downwards. Luke Williams has already stated his salary is too high. This reducing of certain salaries has been in effect for the past few seasons. There is a reluctance to speculate on salary, however there hasn’t been a reluctance to spend money. That can’t be argued with. The Swans are creeping towards financial fair play status though. it’s just that nearly five million pounds spent last year was just thrown in to the air on Jerry Yates and Mykola Kukharevych. The former, albeit scoring yesterday his first goal in some twenty one games, the latter an international man of mystery.

We are working hard on the truth behind Mykola’s selection issues this season.

There surely is a case for Lowe ? He is an impressive athlete, he scores goals and worried the Terriers defence to death yesterday. If it’s achievable a contract should be offered, his determination is impressive. We saw a Swans side which was quite ruthless yesterday, they also played with danger at the back on numerous occasions. It’s the first real time under Luke Williams we’ve seen some real idea on Luke’s vision. Despite Huddersfield being dreadful you have to beat who is in front of you.

And the Swans did in style in the second half yesterday.
