There has been a general confusion and some quite vociferous concerns on the current transfer of Melker Widell from his club AaB to Swansea City. After two days of research we can possibly explain the reasoning behind the Swans accepting the transfer of Widell to Swansea and then loaning him back.
First of all we have to look at how AaB operate. They will also be referred as AaB Fodbold or Aalborg Boldspilklub. We will stick with AaB. If you recall we announced the bid on this site on Tuesday. The reason being we were pointed towards the Nasdaq Copenhagen where the two shareholders at the club have a control. The main control remains with Sports Strategy Excellence (Germany) (51%) as we reported two days ago, that’s below. They also involve themselves in many other sports holdings. There are two other interested parties, they are Nordjyske Holding A/S (19.8%) and Sebc Holding ApS (5.3%) There are several others with lower than 5% interest.

That’s the basics, but it can get really mesmerising if you go any deeper. Fortunately we have had some help from two very good sources and indeed an open source on social media. It’s just a matter bothering to investigate the facts and utilising our sources to find out more. You cant utilise sources without them knowing, you have to task and delegate in complete confidence. Currently AaB will have had the decision maker in Jan Peters involved from the start. He will provide the details later on in this report. That is open for all to see.
What is interesting is that certain accounts send their 280 odd tweets on Twitter but obviously it is very hard for them to run a website alongside what they report . A very good account, which we know is linked in with certain others is Only Swans. Anyone reading this really should drop them a follow on Twitter. We see much of the background to them and another account as we regularly get What’s App updates. It’s nothing more really than what is in the domain of privacy that we have. But these guys are decent.

In fact the main stream media rarely go deeper to provide real context hence this feature this evening. With the basic make up of AaB explained we then turn to their stock exchange performance. Today as an example with Melker in Wales (flight in from Spain) to sort out his transfer their stock is rising. That’s to be expected. What is a concern is that their league position is somewhat precarious. This couples in with their overall stock exchange rating too. The more successful they are the better they will be perceived by their some 10,000 shareholders on view. As stated Melker is now agreeing all the basics of his salary, and the Swans will register him as a player by end of business on Friday. Whatever interim payments and agreed staggered payments have been agreed between AaB and Swansea they are now fact. Melker will obviously be going through a stringent medical to protect the Swans as is the usual way. That should happen tomorrow.
The question on many Swans fans lips is why is this deal including a loan back to AaB ? Well, the Swans will have purchased him and done all that they need to do by this weekend. It could transpire as official on Monday, but it is being indicated it could be before. Melker will travel back to Spain where AaB are in a seasonal training camp in Marbella. The vagrancies of the deal can be explained.
Once Andrew Coleman had his bid confirmed on Tuesday morning the Danish stock exchange were alerted, in fact they only need to be told when a ‘a bid’ is made, the content of that doesn’t have to be disclosed at that point.
This is where Andrew Coleman has to be congratulated after dialogue with the aforementioned Jan Peters and the current club Chairman. Obviously look into the majority ownership for more info. The Swans have been tracking Melker for some while. Immediately on learning this there are two agents that we know who tell us that it will become common knowledge in their arena quite quickly. Agents live and die by knowing as much as they can and will impart information to those they trust (other agents and intermediaries) This was crucial to Coleman making a quick decision on Melker. Quite simply AaB would not do business unless the Swans purchased the player and then loaned him back to them as a Swansea City squad member. They also provided Coleman with clear stats that proved their statement that other clubs were in for him although not at the financial level as the Swans were. After further discussions the deal was agreed and Coleman not wanting to lose Melker who is so highly rated at AaB and by everyone we have spoken to is about to become a Swans player. When you add it all up, losing Melker could well have pushed Coleman into a corner he just couldn’t fight himself out of. At least now he has his man and can concentrate on other incomings this weekend.
The other reasoning which is equally as crucial is that AaB are not performing this season. The season finishes on paper on March 16th this year. But of course that’s not the whole story. After March 16th a play off ensues. Not just a normal play off but one that includes the whole of SuperLiga, oddly enough. That means all the teams including AaB will be thrown into a complicated play off system that nobody will know about until the end of the regular season. Admittedly we thought he could come back to Swansea after that. However, two informed journalists have told us that won’t happen. He will return to Swansea after the season ends in June. There are no caveats at all. That’s what will happen.
And that’s why AaB wanted him to be loaned back. Again news of this will alert their profile on the stock market and as stated their stock will rise as it is doing today.
With those details available to us there’s no reason why we shouldn’t report them. And it’s a shame our main stream media don’t add context at times that would help simplify this transfer. We have our information from contacts close to an agency called FFP, they are a small but very professional agent. All you have to do at times is have a bare face and the desire to take the bull by the horns and investigate these things. So, Melker will be a Swans player, AaB are happy, the deal is agreed and we await the Swans announcing it - probably in March.
