Swansea City : Darling edges closer to fitness ‘Exclusive quotes’
Swansea City fans will breath a sigh of relief with news that Harry Darling is recovering well from the knock he had against Middlesbrough last Saturday. Various sources confirm he is already making progress and is more than likely to appear this Saturday.
With another day of treatment today after missing last nights poor showing at Watford, Darling will be tested out tomorrow in a full fitness test. We’ve been told, "Harry has recovered very well, we don’t see too many issues with his fitness overall, his record is good. It is more about how he responds on Saturday to Fridays assessment. He is looking at this time very good for Saturday, there shouldn’t be any problems”
That’s the good news for the Swans and Darling with nine games to go this season and a couple of wins still required to stop the glancing behind after defeat last night. Bar Cardiff the week has given hope for those clubs in the relegation scrap. The Swans are clear of the relegation threatened sides at this moment in time but a loss such as last night always ensures a few doubts.
The next issue is Burnley, they have had a tremendous season to date. Goalkeeper, James Trafford went just under nineteen hours without conceding a goal up to March 5th. Since conceding that goal against Cardiff in a 2-1 win the Clarets have conceded one more, that came in the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night. Conrad Egan Riley who was sent off by referee Gavin Ward on Tuesday has had an appeal upheld against that sending off. He will play against the Swans on Saturday. The player has been an ever present over the past seventeen games for his club so that’s a huge boost for Burnley boss, Scott Parker.
We will have a full report pre match tomorrow, but the good news for now barring any unknowns is that Harry Darling will be fit for Saturday.
