Alan Sheehan : Clubs monitor his progress as the Swans close to making a decision

We can confirm that two clubs are monitoring Alan Sheehan and his progress at Swansea City, both clubs are known to his representatives and Alan despite his focus on the Swans. This now places the clubs decision makers in a quandary.

We can also disclose it seems the board are now keen to get a permanent role sorted out. Talks are now underway.

Sheehan’s contract concludes at Swansea at the end of the season, that makes him open to any job offers available, and we know he will most certainly be taking one of them if Swansea continue to ‘think’ about his future. Nobody can ignore his progress to date. Plus his very short contract won’t be huge to buy out if a club comes in sooner. That is of course without knowing of any clauses within his current Swansea contract. There could be many. It has been mentioned to us that a specific number of wins would guarantee Sheehan getting an offer in any event. But that’s not confirmed.

That won’t bother clubs now interested in Sheehan who would without doubt take his two new coaches, Richard Stearman and Mark Fotheringham, in fact the length of their contracts remains unknown. The clubs we have now confirmed as most certainly interested are a current League One side and a club in and around the top six in the Championship. We pride ourselves on our sources being accurate and giving us a heads up on current issues. This is no different.

Sheehan turned down coaching roles in the past few months and during last summer.

That’s here —> Sheehan coaching offers

Ben Cabango the Swans captain would relish the opportunity for a permanent role for Sheehan. "You can see all the players are behind him now, and I feel like he's done superbly well in his period he's had and the period he had previously as well. So he shows the qualities as a manager and I'd be delighted if it was him." The club didn’t listen to previous captain, Matt Grimes which was a part of the reason he left in January for Coventry City. He approached the hierarchy in December initially regards the direction the team was going in. They didn’t listen.

We hope they listen now.

Swansea City could easily lose the opportunity to keep Alan Sheehan, his contract agreement until the end of the season as we have already stated is unknown. By that we mean can a club come in for him now or just the end of the season ? What is very clear is Alan Sheehan is no Omar Riza at Cardiff City. He has demonstrated his coaching awareness for nearly every game he has taken charge of. Despite the losses against Watford away and Burnley at home when Sheehan was desperate for support this has been a complete success for him.

Whether the Swansea board go with their gut or their aspirations for a new head coach they have to make their minds up at some point. If they do it in the coming week not many will complain. If they leave it and lose him then there will be a form of uproar not seen at Swansea for a quite a while. We believe that the finance of these two clubs will easily turn Sheehan’s head. Whatever the situation the news today and it is very much confirmed is that Sheehan's efforts are being taken notice of, and there’s one guarantee, he will be a manager next season.

It just depends on where.

We will update this latest news on Sheehan as soon as we have more.
