Swans heading for 20k plus attendance on Saturday : Key dates for the summer

Tickets are fast flowing for the last game of this campaign in what will be an end of season scorcher weather wise. This should send a huge message to the current club gatekeepers for next season.

Do it right, ensure positivity, embrace the support, utilise your creativity and anything can happen.

We have been told that just under a thousand are available for the game with people being encouraged to get themselves sorted for the game by buying online from the official Swansea website. The club have warned supporters about pitch incursions post match, but really there’s little to cheer over the whole season. This sort of scenario is reserved for success of which the Swans have had little this to shout about since the campaign began.

Of course recent events are indeed worth celebrating, not least the return of Wrexham to the Championship to challenge the Swans, who next season will go into the campaign in top spot. With the loss of Cardiff City who are now relegated to what was the old third division there is little to challenge the two Championship sides. Wrexham will step up with millions to spend and with it being their first year within the profit and sustainability rules for the Championship it is literally millions they can spend.

And they will.

The progress of recent months is and has inspired the supporters. The club will certainly recognise that attendances like the one on Saturday can quickly become the norm with the right players coming in and a positive touch from new permanent head coach, Alan Sheehan. Whatever Swans fans consider success next time around we most certainly believe if the Swans get it right a challenge in and around the top six shouldn’t be laughed at. The work the club are doing is going to get the Jack Army very excited next season with an emphasis on attack and converting goals.

Here are some key dates for the summer. Fixture release day takes place on Thursday, 26 June, with fixtures released at 12:00pm. Over the weekend of the 8th-10th August the Championship starts again. That’s some while away after Saturday for sure. Over ninety days is a long wait.

Over the next week or so we will be bringing you some first class Swans news, as we say free press for Jacks. It’s unrivalled. It’s not about being first it’s about getting the context right and for our readers especially - going in-depth and offer explanations is how we see our role as a Swansea City website. You have had a lot from us this season from us getting to grips with the new change of ownership and who was involved well before the announcement was made. New board members joining, and all that we have brought you this year with full match reports and our information that the Swans were never going to employ a UK manager. There’s loads more, but to all our readers, as an example our reports top twenty thousand in a lot of cases alone we thank you, and on behalf of the brain tumour charity.

Thanks for supporting the Indy.

Our forum is well moderated, we exclude swearing so younger people can dip in and get their Swans fix. Plus, any personal attack on any member or even on the only other Swans fans website results in an immediate ban which is reciprocated. We aim to make this a safe place for people to offer their opinions even if it results in less members who like to use websites for their own bizarre agenda. They are seriously not going to last.

Swans scrap it out to beat the Baggies
There were some worried looks when Swansea head coach, Vitor Matos announced his starting eleven against West Bromwich Albion, not least the fact he had no striker in the team. It turned out to be a masterstroke despite a fifteen minute period in the second half, and some uneasy moments at the end of this Championship fixture.
