Swansea City have continued to scout more across central and southern Europe for players who can add value in support positions over the coming two weeks. Rumours of a Scandinavian recruitment drive isn’t happening as of today according to two agents we speak to in that area. In fact as it stands no potential signings are based in that area at all.
However, flexibility will always be there.
As we have stated recently - cover in all positions is always a priority, no matter how important the required positions are at this moment in time. The UK isn’t being ignored either. We have some indications of the players being reviewed but this site won’t be divulging anything to jeopardise who they are or where they currently ply their trade. Again, the very many players that have been suggested by respected accounts we can clear up by sourcing information, but there’s only so far we want to go calling in favours. Having said that fifteen players, three that were the subject of bids allegedly and one on his way does take up time. In way we know that gives the website more credibility it’s which in turn enables more money to be raised for the brain tumour charity. We could list them here but for our regular readers and you are the ones who matter most, you actually know already.
Some get it.
Overall, don’t be surprised if the Netherlands are supplying some likely clues, but the net is now being cast as wide as possible, but Scandinavia isn’t a current preferred choice.
Jerry Yates and Florian Bianchini will get minutes today against Barnsley ** (we initially referenced Brentford, apologies) behind closed doors, that is merely to keep them fit for selling or in Bianchini’s case a possible loan. The Swans aren’t keen on part payment of salaries for their loan players and they are not most certainly having to sell before they recruit. Josh Ginnelly has probably the quickest chance of finding a club as it stands with Alan Sheehan not ruling out Jerry Yates for the new season. Speaking to Wales On Line he stated on Bianchini and Yates, "They'll play minutes against Barnsley. They're still training with the group, and it's one to obviously assess and see what's right from the club's point of view," It seems they both are being given half a chance to impress after a poor all round showing from the squad at Cheltenham on Wednesday night.
The fact that if the right offers came in they would leave tells us that’s still not close. So for now the door is slightly ajar.
As Sheehan also confirmed and from our own Twitter account over the past few weeks there will be more players coming in. That Cheltenham game alerting him to the need of more impact off the bench. That’s the priority now, confirming players to do just that as there has been some alarm within the coaching staff since returning from Spain. The main thing and something we haven’t seen for many years is that players are being watched and analysed so therefore it isn’t a scramble to find new players as we saw in the last window. The effective strategy behind sourcing players before they are given to Sporting Director, Richard Montague to get the deals sorted seems to a very well organised affair.
Some players of late are not just for this summer but the next two windows. Yes, we heard this before from the old regime, but this time it is actually true.
We are also aware that the start of the season won’t be the end of the Swans recruitment, the window running the whole length of August as well. We will keep you up to date with the real news behind our club but as we have stated do not expect names and locations because that just isn’t going to happen.
It’s far less hassle to give credit than not to when quoting our news.
