U21 : Must watch, Swans smash Huddersfield to pieces
It was a Sunday afternoon game for the U21 sides of Swansea City and Huddersfield Town. A fixture where if you were there and especially saw the first half it would live long in your memory.
A more devastating roasting of an opposition team I would doubt has been seen at the stadium since the demolition of Bristol City in 2005, when the Swans ran out 7-1 winners. Despite Swansea City having Blair McKenzie sent off for a second yellow card this game was everything you would want to see in a football match. The U21 side were ferociously quick, Aimar Govea and Kyrell Wilson tormenting the visitors and Joel Cotterill bagging two goals, but also pulling many strings to aid this easy victory.
There’s a whole load of talent in this side, there is extreme pace as well. And if your smiling at that statement then click on the highlights below. They don’t lie.
Anthony Wright continues to guide this U 21 side and as they sit on top of the Professional Development League (south) this season there’s a reason for that. The U21 - on this watch an outstanding bunch of young men. And yes, Aimar Govea is back.
Head Coach, Anthony Wright below.

Swansea City : Jack Butty sails again with his cannons primed The vultures were circling overhead. The bleached bones of the dead lay all around. Wait…a movement…a moving hand. A hen peckered face turns to the light and screams out, ‘Jack Butty here. I’m back with my latest missive from the defiles of dreadful duplicity.’ The cheers of voices were raised. Jack Butty looked around, ‘You lot can pipe down. You’re all gonners and gooners.’ And so, it came to pass…
Swans collapse in a disastrous seventy five minutes of football A brilliant start from Swansea City this afternoon dived into another order from the menu of disastrous football. Starters of no idea after fifteen minutes, with a main course of incompetence and a big desert of stupidity. They are now equal third bottom with Portsmouth who the Swans play at home on Tuesday 9th December (7:45pm) after a home game next Saturday against Oxford United (3pm)
Big game weekend : Players, Focus, Mason v Matos & a reality check Swansea City travel to the midlands today with one focus, do not lose the game and begin to rebuild the fans confidence in the team. By all accounts Vitor Matos has identified two glaring errors in the Swans training processes prior to his arrival, the more astute will have picked them up in this weeks public conversations.
Vitor Matos : Counter press, counter press, counter pressVitor Matos took his first full training session today prior to the West Bromwich Albion game at the Hawthorns on Saturday (3pm) With tickets still on sale for the fixture at generous prices the Swans can again expect a noisy supoort for this game.
Swansea City : The glaringly obvious and Matos agrees Vitor Matos saw a determined Swansea side for the first half an hour of last nights defeat against Derby County. The Rams made it their third win away from home for the first time in five years. Thereafter we saw a tepid display of poor control and a lack of endeavour which is creeping into the Swans play in recent games.
