Swansea City : Treat this like a cup final Alan. Latest Inc injuries plus Stamenić out

Without doubt Swansea City head coach, Alan Sheehan is under pressure to start presenting Swans fans with wins. Especially at home. That will be a difficult task tomorrow at the swansea.com (3pm) His choices will determine the result as we have said already his strategy tomorrow coupled with a fully prepared team giving 100% ‘for the whole game’ is required.

We have Sheehan’s pre match press chat below, what we draw from that is Zân Vipotnik will feature tomorrow, Zeidane Inoussa is a doubt after a training injury this week which also kept him out at Preston on Wednesday. As reported Marko Stamenić is back in Swansea but Alan Sheehan won’t be throwing him in to this fixture. However, he will be joining up with the New Zealand squad (NZT) in the USA for two friendlies from Sunday. Sheehan has advised that Marko has friends in the squad so he feels it would be better for him to make that trip. Not everyone will get that decision but these players, and most certainly Zân Vipotnik don’t seem to mind the long trips to wear their countries jerseys. Sheehan though did explain it satisfactorily.

No Ryan Giggs moments for these two committed internationals.

The three centre back seems to be working with Josh Tymon on the left and potentially Josh Key on the right. However, Samuels-Smith didn’t look out of place on Wednesday at Preston working with Tymon and of course he supplied the assist for Eom. We have been told Melker Widell and Ethan Galbraith are eager to start and fitness pending that is the plan. Sheehan now has Malick Yalcouyé competing for a midfield spot which seems to be between him and Gonçalo Franco, but there could be some flexibility tomorrow.

Ipswich Town have won no friends with Swansea City followers after some made derogatory comments about the city and its people when Cameron Burgess joined in July from their club. Even if there wasn’t that many posts and comments about Swansea many liked and agreed with them. Best bet tomorrow is keep your opinionated borderline racist mentality to yourselves. You are not behind a keyboard for the game.

There you go that will go down well.

Ipswich seem to be in decent form after a 0-3 defeat against Charlton at Portman Road in October. Since then they have won two games out of three, drawing the other. Note has to be taken of the 4-1 away win at Queens Park Rangers last weekend. Head coach, Kieran McKenna has had to withstand the usual bizarre nonsense that often comes from entitled fans when Ipswich had a sluggish start. Moans and groans from people who clearly have no idea of the value he has brought to their club. On the game he said, "They are a team that play really well from a possession-based point of view and have a great structure with the ball. We know it’s going to be a tough game, they are a good team and can beat anyone on their day. We have prepared for them as well as we can in the couple of days we have had but it is about being ready and delivering the best that we can.”

Ipswich Town are now in Swansea in preparation for the game. Wes Burns (knee), Sammie Szmodics (knee) and Alex Palmer (calf) are all out and Leif Davis has a hamstring concern. We are told he will face a further fitness test in the morning.

This must be treated as a cup game and a must win for Sheehan, he has to get a result, it’s high time he did or the calls for him to go will increase.

Ben Cabango is calling for more focus and for lessons to be learned, none of the squad want Sheehan to be in this position so it’s down to them as much as anyone connected to the Swans. It’s always going to be the main man who gets the flack but maybe tomorrow the Jack Army will turn up and get right behind OUR club.
