Macclesfield Town are hoping their excellent pre season run continues tomorrow afternoon as we welcome Manchester City's Under 21 Elite side to the Moss Rose.
Make no bones about it, it is going to be a real test for the Silkmen. With City's first team currently in the Big Apple it gives these young lads a chance to show what they can do.
The Elite's manager Steve Eyre told the official City website "Macc will be a step-up without a doubt. They're a full-time League club and have already been on a tour of Ireland and also beat a couple of teams by big scores."
"They are mature opponents who have started pre-season really well. We hope to play our part and compete as best we can physically while expressing our talent while in possession."
Gary Simpson is expected to put out his strongest side along with a number of trialists including Matty Hamshaw in the first game on the green green grass of the Moss this season.
Trialist goalkeeper Jack Cudworth is expected to play 45 minutes after his decent display at Newcastle in the week. The 6ft 2" keeper was released by Preston at the end of the season and hopes to get a contract at the Moss Rose.
Kick off is at 3pm tomorrow but get their earlier if you want a new shirt.
