Forgot about that one. We went there late last year probably Oct/Nov time. Got there too late, they were shutting the cafe which is where you can see the feeders, and forgot the binoculars that day!
Quite expensive though. The other places we've been have all been free!

Hi Dar, they are great shots. Out of interest what lens do you use for them? And how far away are you from the birds? My wife is the photographer amongst us and finds that 300mm doesn't seem to get close enough.
She would have liked to get closer to the Waxwings for example.

I've just got a small Samsung wifi camera but it's got a hell of a zoom on it,if you put it on the right programme it doubles the zoom. It's got a 21x zoom but you can turn it into 42x

So far in 2017 we've done Pontneddfechan, Rspb Newport and Cwm Clydach, Penllegare Woods and Parc Slip. If anyone can recommend other places locally I'd appreciate it!!

Singleton Park Ornamental Gardens have always been a decent spot for me. Easy to get to and plenty there, although not a huge amount of variety.

Was he/She sitting toward the top of a tree in the stretch before the waterfall? Saw him there last week and at one point last year. Is it a cormorant? Wife and I really struggled to ID .

Cormorant drying out, I may be wrong but I don't think they have the oil gland at the base of their tails like Ducks have (cul de cunard) spelling ?

Yup.
Definitely a Cormorant. They've got that very Jurassic looking beak.
