We don't have more points than ever - it is equal with Laudrup 1. If we don't win the next game and 2 from the next 3 it is inferior to Laudrup 1. We turned to sh1t after 28 games then. |  |

If we were in the lower leagues then I would have said football quality / entertainment was preferable over results.
Now I have a different view as Prem status is vital to the club and probably more so to the Swansea as a City. A marketing tool that even those up he road with all their investment can only dream of.
I agree that our points total is great and we are almost safe but we have to improve on current form and performances if we are not going to have a torrid time next season. |  |

This is the problem. For nearly 3 seasons we've had 2 of the hottest properties in the PL scoring for fun. It was always going to be hard replacing them. A big challenge for Garry now he's got to find a new way. He needs to find a way of getting us to sing without a star at the fulcrum of our play. It's possible as shown by Brenda, but Monk's had it easy so far with having Bony to rely on. Now he has the biggest challenge of his short managerial career. It's fascinating stuff, although I'm a bit worried to see signs of pressure getting to him after a relatively small blip. He looks like he hasn't slept for days! He's good enough to get through this though imo. |  | | |

Bony especially and Michu (then) were more than just goals. they gave the rest confidence. There is no way the team have confidence in Gomis. they have no idea where he is half the time (I'm not saying that's necessarily his fault), but they know he aint going to dig them out of a hole. Gylfi's form and fitness is going to be critical to us for the rest of the season. He (with Ki) must become our 'go to' player again like he was in his first spell here. | |

Gylfi is as critical as he was in the first season.
Let's nt get carried away - the team is not going to go down, and I don't go along with the 'Monk out' stuff at all. If anything, I'm getting fed up (as I alluded o a few weeks ago) with the board's mentality of 'get reasonably safe by January then get in some money and fall over he line'. We have again chosen this year to forgo big expenditure (by replacing Bony) and using that money for other things (I assume) like the stadium etc. However, it doesn't half make the latter part of each season crap to watch.
We did it when we got rid of Danny G and didn't replace (because we were in a similar position of safety) and we are doing it now. By the way - on that subject - Danny G looks like a hardworking, multi talented footballing superstar compared to Gomis. Difference was when Graham went, we had Michu.

Now then here's a point ,
Gomis works his ars e off to be fair to the guy & has been praised for his workload by the manager , supporters & in the press ,so to say he's not having a go is way off the mark.
Maybe he should take the bony / Scotland stance about playing up top at he moment & conserve his energy a bit more .
Away from home he's been very very isolated because the team are so poor ATM .
He's no wilfried for sure also he's no Vasquez either . |  |

I thought the 'Swansea Way' (aka our distinct style) was now known to all, that we'd become too predictable and easy to play against, and that there was a clamour from many fans for change.
The fact that we're asking / debating the OP's title suggests we don't have a distinct style at the moment.
Many fans are not happy with points & position over performance, yet if we become rooted at the foot of the table in the future they may be grateful for the former.
As is often said, be careful what you wish for.
Appreciate what we have. Top flight status lasted two seasons the last time, and took 30 years to regain that status. Anyone that followed us from top to bottom the last time will know full well how quickly that can happen.

the ball goes up pitch with lots of passes back and forth sideways, then we lose it and then it comes back down the pitch towards our goal then goes slowly back up the pitch again pinging off various players, then we lose it again and it comes back towards our goal again and so on .

Our style has evolved over the seasons. We changed our style to suit Bony. We never used to boot balls into the box before that. In fact we would have shuddered at the thought. We are looking so lost at the moment because we no longer have a target man. Well we have a target man but hes got no backbone. Going to take another tweak. | |
