Cheers but I listened to the Radio 4 interview.
The one where he was repeatedy asked about having invited Abou Jahjah into Parliament. The interview where he repeatedly refused to answer the question; a simple "No, I did not". Instead he blustered claiming not to have known who the guy was only to issue a statement 5 hours later where his researchers had just discovered he did in fact meet him.
After all, it's not like that story has been around for days or anything, the researchers only just noticed.
And in that Channel 4 interview people seemed to become anti-semitic years after meeting Corbyn. Guess he met that at the right time then. Funding people? Just coppers chucked into a bucket.
I'd suggest there's a credibility gap - and not just in the economics of his policies.

Nor am I; indeed I ask you to produce any evidence I've claimed Corbyn is anti-semitic.
I think he's had poor judgement in the people he surrounds himself with, he's done little to stop some of the abuse hurled at other candidates whilst bigging up his etchical campaign.
He's not helped himself with his response in this either.

I'd imagine it would be a matter of public record if Corbyn invited that guy around parliament. IF Corbyn did, then any coverup will destroy his election campaign. IF he didn't, then all is fine and dandy with the world - at least on that score.
Then again, I'm not burying any issues around anti-semitism by ignoring it. I mean, a cartoonist having the Israeli flag with a swastika on it with octopus tentacles clearly has no Nazi symbolism. I can't. No one has. The way these accusations stick is by rumour, innuendo and guilt by association. That's what people do when there's absolutely no evidence to back up the assertion that they so want to be true. It's underhand and morally bankrupt but not untypical of those determine to discredit someone (anyone) without a shred of evidence.
Although Perch did say clearly that Corbyn was a holocaust denier further up this thread. But that's probably best ignored.

My view is Corbyn is clearly passionate about his beliefs right and wrong. Sometimes that can blind you, you're at events with extremists etc.
I'd don't believe Corbyn is anti-semitic. I wouldn't want him to be anti-semitic any more than I'd want anyone to be anti-semitic.
What's not to be doubted is that he has been around some anti-semites. As a consequence, for me it's not a case of believing him to be anti-semitic, more that he's occasionally too damn naive to see the wider picture. On that score, it raises questions about his judgement; in turn factors into credibility.
What doesn't convince me is that some of his answers have been waffly; very "how very dare you...". He could have handled the questions a lot better than he has done - which again raises questions for me about his leadership skills. | |

Very reasonable. I mostly agree. What I will say is that those who are sometimes critical of Israel and speak up on behalf of displaced Palestinians are often wrongly accused of being anti-Jewish. It happens on here all the time. Usually by the same poster mind you. I find that offensive personally. As I've said to you before, it's possible to be one without the other, indeed most will be one and not the other. But it's also true that the pro-Palestine cause will attract its fair share of anti-Semite scum. It's a convenient cloak for them to indulge their prejudice and hatred. But I would suggest that the bulk of those would reside on the far right as opposed to the hard left. [Post edited 19 Aug 2015 21:39]
