What fear would that be, precisely?
That he'd become Prime Minister? No chance in hell of that happening.
Should he get elected Labour leader, what would happen would be legal action first of all; the party then having to wait a year to oust him. Next leadership election he'd fail to get 35 MPs to back him - belatedly realising that having him in to "provoke discussion" whilst having ridiculous election rules easy to game was a foolish mistake.
Labour would then be faced with a lengthy period of removing the Militant Tendency-esque comrades Corbyn gets into positions of power within the party. Having taken Labour back to the eighties, the fights to purge the party of the Looney Left ( remember Hatton and Liverpool ) would divide Labour to the extent I'd not be surprised to see Corbyn and his acolytes quit the party.
So the point is that Labour really are in a massive mess at this point in time. The damage Corbyn would cause or three very much "meh" candidates. I'd normally be enjoying this and getting the popcorn but any government needs a strong opposition to prevent complacency. | |

Question has to be asked why jez is feared more by his own party.
