Why don’t the Trust make membership free, rather than charge £10?
With over £200,00 in the bank, you could argue there is no need to raise funds through membership.
Maybe if membership was free, you’d get many more people joining up, and having a membership of 10,000+ is better than 1,200 or whatever it is.

I've never been in favour of the free /ST trust membership thing. Far better to have a committed, albeit smaller, membership where you can demonstrate a genuine attachment to the organisation.
The moneys also an issue. 10 quid isn't a lot to many, but they all add up. That covers costs for things like fan forums, sponsorship of local football and good causes. There's also the expenses such as engaging counsel advice on the original American interest, and may yet be required in the future.
True there's a pot there now but I'd rather that was kept in reserve for when it may be needed. |  |

Spoke to Jim about this recently - I couldn't be more in favour of the Trust and their Board and had the privilege of serving on it for a brief period before I moved to London
My biggest issue is that I'm lazy and always forget to get around to renewing with the paper forms. I would v v happily sign an annual direct debit and Jim confirmed this is coming in this summer | |

I didn’t realise it was only £5 for seniors (not that I am one).
I see there is an option to join the Trust as a Standard member — is there another option? I guess the ones on here would be more then likely to put their hand in their pocket, I’m just trying to think of options to get others to join, even if an affiliated member that is free — show the new board that there are big numbers behind the Trust (not that I think they’d really care). | |
