Many moons ago, just after finals, my group of UG university friends made a long drive there as one of the last things we did together. It is a great beach in an area with few really good beaches.

I've a couple of Bass fishing mates who live up near there and it can be a very prolific beach for catching fish, due to the tidal currents, which says it all, Spring tides even on the calmest of days can catch you out due to the fast movement of the tide. Worst sea conditions lve experienced over the last 5 yrs were at the beach in Cala de Majorca conditions looked fantastic with a very good surf for a decent swim and some fun, but as soon as you got into the water to waist deep you could feel the pull of the water pulling you under, unfortunately the lifeguards pulled a gent out and despite their best efforts they couldn't save him, they stopped people from entering the water soon after, went there a few days later and it was like a different beach.
A few of us hired a house on Camber Sands a couple of years ago the house was virtually on the beach so when the tide was in dopey went in for a dip,it was perfectly calm then all of a sudden a massive wave came from nowhere and hit me up in the f*cking air,my mate took a photo. Cracking house mind.

Majorca doesn't have much of a tide, what you experienced was a rip current, and it won't pull you under, as water finds it's own level, but it will can your feet from under you as it's a fast moving, but narrow current. It's the biggest killer on beaches worldwide.
You can actually learn to spot them before you enter the water. Here is a good video

Man with balancing issues in getting knocked off foot by small wave shocker...
Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.
