Modou Barrow 18:13 - Sep 12 with 1647 views | skippyjack | People have been lauding Fer and Jordi Amat.. but the person who changed the whole outlook of the game was Modou Barrow.. without his introduction. Fer would've been non-existent. and Chelsea would've won comfortably.. our marking and overall defensive play on set pieces is shambolic.. Barrow made some terrifying runs, coupled with Llorente and his fantastic hold up play, pushed Chelsea further back.. resulting in better defensive organisation.. giving Fer a little more room to work with.. because when it comes to defensive duties he's shocking. Amat and Fernandez need to work on set pieces.. the two centre halves are just not good enough to defend set pieces.. and it will be our achilles heel again this season.. coupled with our mediocre attacking fullbacks.. until we get two new forward thinking fullbacks.. the 5311 should be kept in the back of the book shelf until we have the players who can play it effectively.. Taylor tried, probed.. but ultimately come up short.. Naughton clearly doesn't have a clue how to operate in a 5311. Thank you Modou for earning us a point.. we have a lot of work to do this season.. at least the players were showing a bit of steel, grit and determination.. but just like Burnley, it won't keep you up in this league.

Let's hope he doesn't peak now or else he'll be sold in the January window.

Not until he can play for 90 minutes he won't. Excellent impact sub & he's got pace to burn - nowhere near the finished article though.

He isn't, but he is worth persevering with. He has the talent but not the nous. It's a catch 22 because he isn't going to get it without first team experience.

Always aiming to have an end product to his play, be it a shot or cross. How drumming something so simple into a young player can make a massive difference.

Modou Barrow on 19:48 - Sep 12 with 1243 views | Rancid | He's in my dream team and couldn't believe he didn't score any points for 7 plus rating yesterday? ? He changed the whole dynamics of the game when he came on and while Azpilecueto I initially had him under control, Barrow was relentless and kept going and going. His end product is pretty decent even now and in a couple of years with a good attitude he could become a real star.Great piece of scouting and business by the club.

Agree completely, I'd definitely stick with him, someone needs to work with him on his fitness though. He's not a kid & he really shouldn't run out of steam as quickly as he does.
