I'm aware. I'd argue that he is the 2nd best winger at the club who is fit to play on Saturday. Why he wasn't recalled as soon as Montero and Dyer were confirmed injured is baffling.

They offered zero protection to our defence, Charlie Adam waltzed through them time and again as if they weren't there.
They also offered zlich going forward, their only contribution IMO was to give possession away repeatedly.

Ki was ok with possession, Fer is the only attack minded midfielder we have.
Leon is the only one I'd potentially bring in to the team. Jack Cork gives us nothing from a defensive or attacking perspective. | | | |

Reading all these disagreements about players just highlights to me what a truly average squad we seem to have at the moment. If we had a decent starting eleven, I'm sure at least 9 of them would be in almost everybody's pick because they would be the ones with genuine quality and the other 2 would be there to suit the shape/tactics. The problem is we have (at best) an average group of defenders, an average midfield, average wingers and average strikers. Only Fab would be in everyone's team with Siggy Maybe not far behind but that would only on reputation for the quality we know he has as even he's been a lot nearer average than he's ever been before. | | | |
