It was bad enough the WAG decided to steal 350 jobs from Swansea and another 350 from Wrexham and give them to their City State of Cardiff. Now we find that they are planning to move them from the current Llanishen site close to the motorway into a new £100 million pound building in Central Square between the station and the Mill Stad.

So, not only have they stolen well paid jobs from places that need them far more, especially Wrexham, they've decided to rent a building in the most expensive place for office rent in the country.

Coincidentally, in today's Evening Post Chris Holley says that what Swansea City Centre needs to give it a boost is well paid jobs. But, those jobs are going to the place that needs them the least. And not only have they stolen those 700 jobs there'll be an extra 1000 jobs created.

All in our beloved Capital City.

I absolutely agree with you. This is running Wales for the benefit of Cardiff and no where else.
To site the building in such an expensive site is a disgrace.
Soon Cardiff will be deadlocked.Commuters in the valleys are already leaving their homes at 6.30 to arrive for 9 .00 jobs. The A470 at seven in the morning is gridlocked from Pontypridd downwards.

I believe that Wrexham tax office have been told that they can move to Liverpool, so that's only about 30 odd miles each way and 2 hours plus on the daily commute. Interesting to know the rental rates for Wrexham and Swansea compared to the new Cardiff office. People will still vote labour next time though.

Llanishen to Cardiff? Do you know where Llanishen is?

Incidentally they moved some of the Llanishen DVLA workers to Swansea when they closed down the Cardiff DVLA office.

I don't think many will have trouble travelling that extra 5 miles to work, most probably live in Cardiff or commute by train/bus to Cardiff Central.

It is truly shocking. HMRC wanted to centralise and the first thing Carwyn did was run to Westminster with Leader of Cardiff Council to offer up offices in the centre. Contrast that with Scotland who raised concerns about job losses across their area and argued against it.
Whilst in England there is a recognition that London can't have everything and some efforts are being made to address this. Admittedly not enough but it is in complete contract to Carwyn and Co.
Holly has a point. We are hamstrung without any well paid jobs and WAG investment. What annoys me with SWEP is this is lost in one of their inner pages. It should be headlines
Speaking of SWEP it is interesting in the Letters page that Hedges and Julie James were getting criticism for doing diddly squat for Swansea.

Don't worry. The property development arm of the Council are going to turn the Kingsway into a commercial hub by knocking down Oceanea for 4 million quid when the original quote was a million.
See the feigned surprise when they realise the rebuild of council offices need specialist facilities for document archive, fitting out IT etc and it costs about three times as much as they thought.
Annually our council tax goes up at 5 percent per annum for at least three years. This rate of increase would be illegal in England without a local referendum. It'll be more when the Kingsway redevelopment goes even more belly up.
No scrutiny by the press or anyone else.
Rant over.

I don't know how many times you need to be told but it is BOTH that are responsible. Welsh Labour being the common denominator.
There are inept councillors all through the Country. That ineptitude can be given boundless help when money and the actual will to develope and invest is there. 40 miles of motorway does not make better or more ambitious politicians.
Your defence of all things Cardiff is baffling.
