Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. Apparently a test firing of one of the blank missiles went slightly astray and headed straight for the east coast of America days before the vote to renew it. This event was surpressed until now when presumably someone with some sort of political motive has decided to leak it to the papers.

Read that yesterday. The firing was a complete success apparently. Apart from the missile heading to America instead of the target zone off the coast of Africa.

It's nuclear weapons we're talking about kids. Going West instead of East.

What's to worry about?

Theresa Mayhem couldn't answer Andrew Marr when asked about it. All in it together eh? Billions for something we will never use yet can't find a penny for our NHS or other public services that we always use.

It's like telling your family you are skint and going out and buying a Ferarri.

Quite.

Perhaps if they turned the sub around 180 degrees it might have gone in the right direction.

Lessons learned etc.

I'd be blaming Russian hacking, everyone seems to be doing it these days, so why not jump in with the crowd.

Nah.

People blame Russia for hacking shit when Russia hacks shit. Not for things completely unrelated to Russian hacking.

Unless they're trying to obfuscate of course.

Yeah it sort of defeats the concept of mutually assured destruction when our enemies know we probably won't hit them anyway.

NHS and trident have something in common - both should be scrapped. Insurance based systems where the state takes care of the finance side and the care is provided by a mix seem to work far better. eg Japan, Germany, Canada

German employees pay nearly 15% of their salary for health insurance. It's not the system it's how much is spent on healthcare. The UK spends much less than Germany but we do have a couple of nuclear missiles. That's why it's so much safer to live in the UK.

cringe-worthy face palm answers from the PM on the Andrew Marr show this morning.

Shame he lacked the nuts to tell her that her evasiveness will be implicitly understood by the nation that she did know unless she wishes, in the next answer she gives, to explicitly deny she did.

Instead he let her off the hook a bit.

That's what Marr does. He's gone soft in his dotage. They should have let John Humphreys loose on her. Her performance was remarkable in its incompetence though. "Did you know about the test?"

"Yeah but no but Jeremy Corbyn but yeah but Jeremy Corbyn".

Init. 'Strawman, strawman, and in case you missed it, strawman.'

He really should have pushed for a simple yes or no.

You guys think if Trident was cancelled that money would go on Health?

It's all within our agreed national spend with NATO, if it was cancelled the money would go on something else to maintain Britains committment.

So are certain imbeciles on this thread trying to say that if only we had a Labour government we wouldn't have trident?
Or that Theresa May is responsible for the Navy fukking up the TEST firing of a missile?

Yes, Marr hasn't done his job very well there. This is all very embarrassing for May. I wonder who has suddenly decided to leak this and why?
