It's possible with training to pick out signs of stress/ distress at interviews but at end of the day ,it's about evidence and how compulsive it is from an objective perspective
It's possible to be trained in interviewee techniques which were utilised by our IRA cousins

I think statistically with most cases of this kind, the person responsible is more often than not someone known to the victim, so it would be completely natural for the parents and their friends to be suspects. But the international and political pressure put on the Portuguese police when they named the parents as arguidos was pretty unprecedented.

I feel for Madeleine and the other kids but have zero sympathy for the parents.
They used charity donated money to pay off their mortgage. Why did she go no comment in the interviews when any normal mum would have helped in any watt they could. Then you have the sniffer dogs who indicated in the boot of the hire car.

The same summer that she disappeared we were holidaying in France. It consisted of about 10 villas around a swimming pool and was set about 5 minutes outside the town. We all had a meal in an adjoining barn one night away from the villas and ours were the only children present, all the others were left alone in the villas. Any of them could have been abducted or drowned in the pool and no one would have been any the wiser. Thats what people are like.
