Who is this player at around the 1:10 mark. At first I thought/assumed it was Robbie James but on looking closer it obviously isn't. Hell of a goal though.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Yep bang on..... SCFC v Arsenal if memory serves me correct cos I saw that goal from the North Bank and I'm sure his move to us was a dream move because Toshack took him straight from lower league obscurity right into the top division.

Perch is right.

Max Thompson against Arsenal.
Think we bought him for about £20.000 from Blackpool.

That's the game Albert Tatlock and John Conteh were at something to do with the Variety Club of Great Britain.

They look great days, I went to a few games with my old man back then but they are a blur.

It was a bit of a freak goal but at the time it was great seeing it fly into the net. :D

Thompson never got close to anything like that again and didn't play so many games, though that might have been due to a clause where the Swans had to stump up another £20,000 if he played over a set amount of games. might have been about 40.

I'd like to further add for the benefit of any younger generation on here logged in at present, if Albert Tatlock was alive today he'd be about 130 -140 yrs old.

It's shown twice also at 0.36, followed by curts goal at Ipswich in a 3-2 win, which is still regarded by many as our finest ever top flight performance.

Ipswitch away was one incredible result Toshack threw caution to the wind with that one and played a crazy formation bearing in mind Ipswitch's attacking prowess!
