Like a lot of the Audioslave stuff, even if the lyrics get a bit repetitive. Haven't really tried to get into Soundgarden, although the few tracks I know I like.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Pearl Jam always seem to be disregarded but they've had the most enduring career.
Nirvana are vastly overrated - Bleach was great, everything else over-produced to be consumer friendly. Foo Fighters have shown the real talent in the band was Dave Grohl.
I'd agree with you AIC for me were better than Soundgarden in terms of having better songs but I'd say Soundgarden were more influential.

Good post that Bluester. Have you or anyone heard this. It's magnificent.
Sounds like it. From what I heard on the radio just now, his wife asked a friend to check on him in his hotel room in the Vegas MGM and he was found in the bathroom with something wrapped around his neck.
Was looking forward to seeing Soundgarden for the first time in Dallas next Friday. Very sad.
And while grunge was right in my wheelhouse and saved American music for me from the dreadful late 80's hair metal crap, the greatest thing to ever come out of Seattle will always be Jimi Hendrix.

Nah. I know he was originally from the south but Seattle is where Ray Charles moved in the late '40s and honed an act with a teenage Quincy Jones that burned up the charts.
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.
