Stoke beat us to the signing of Joe Allen, signed Berahino, Ramadan Sobhi and had the luxury of having Bony on a season loan. The total outlay for this seasons signings is in excess of £34million.
Bony's only goals were against us. Berahino has even got a league goal yet.
If we win and Stoke lose today, we finish level on 41 points. Stoke haven't really been relegation candidates whilst we've just performed another great escape this season. The Swans are only the second club to escape relegation whilst being bottom at Christmas in a Premier league history.
So despite Stoke having Allen & Bony (2 players a lot on here would love to see back at the Liberty)
They've had a dissapointing season. I guess Stoke are pissed off with Mark Hughes, whilst Paul Clement is a hero. Massive contrasts in the feelgood factor of both clubs' set of fans.
So my questions to this forum are:
1: which club has most underperformed/underachieved this season? stoke or Swansea?
2: which club is more likely best equipped to avoid the drop next season?
3: who is the best Manager to achieve this for their clubs? Hughes or Clement?
4: which of these 2 clubs wasted the most money on the transfer market?

1. Swansea - Stoke have had a mildly disappointing season. They are a mid table team likely to finish in mid table, whereas this board was like a manic depressants jamboree a few weeks ago. We have had two excellent mini runs under Clement that have masked how bad the season was before his arrival

4. Hard to say - I'm guessing the £34m total outlay is a net spend rather than total spend? We spent more than that if it's not. With the obvious exception of Borja and arguably Narsingh, I wouldn't say we wasted our money. Llorente, Mawson, Olsson, Carrol and Ayew have all had a positive impact. |  | | |

They've served up a load of old horseshit this season. They're lucky they caught us at our most bobbley or the positions might well have been reversed. Ditto Ham.
Two formerly decent clubs in my younger days (Dobing, Eastham, Banks, Hurst, Devonshire etc) are now disgusting cesspits.
Hope both go down next year taking Hughes, Bowen, Brady and Porno with them.

I've always admired Arnautovic and wished he'd signed for us, but boy did he come through for us when it mattered!

Both have underperformed although because we are the ones that were in relegation do doo we underperformed most.
Both sides were looking to push on up the table Stoke had a meh season and ours was squeaky bum time.
