Why has the thread been deleted? 16:36 - May 29 with 2044 viewslondonlisa2001

Mods - why delete the thread.

I had no wish for it to be deleted. Leave it up there.

At most about three, maybe four posts in the five page thread needed moderating for basic decency.

OK this is serious.

How come threads have been deleted when your photo was on them but Perch's photo allowed to stay?

None. My photo was never on the site. You once posted a photo of someone else who was doing some work for one of the many companies I have a connection with saying it was me and I asked that just that photo be removed as it was unfair to the person whose photo it was. I disagree with photos being posted on the site whoever it is and whatever context the photo was taken. I thought it was completely wrong when the pic of a Perch was put on the site without his permission as well.

I also disagree when you try to post up personal details of posters just because you disagree with their views on here when you are adamant that others should be allowed to remain anonymous.

I've never asked for any thread to be removed. I'm being deadly serious.

I wouldn't have even asked for those to be moderated.

People are angry, and if they choose to rail against another poster on here because they don't know what else to do then so be it.

I don't take it personally. Or at least, I understand their frustration, however misplaced.

It's not about whether you take it personally, those posts were offensive and needed moderating for the website's reputation if nothing else. Although given the stuff that tends to go unmoderated on here I don't know any more.

Thing is if someone had said any of that to a far right BNP supporter there wouldn't be a problem.

Id protect anyone's right to hold and express whatever opinion they want to hold and express as long as they did it without accusing them and others of what you did. My posts on here over the years and my actions as a moderator when I was one back that up. I rarely moderated, only when obvious lines were crossed and often found myself in arguments with other mods who were more trigger happy than me. Phil and Dr WoB will back this up if you need it. I'd much rather argue points than censor opposing opinions but there are basic lines of decency that shouldn't be crossed.

Other opinions are available.
