The figure for wages as a percentage of turnover isn't good and doesn't reflect well on either those responsible for generating additional income or those in charge of controlling outgoings. Also should provide food for thought for those who demand that we start paying out more eight figure transfer fees.

We still need to be run as a tight ship and need to be working smarter than we have been in all areas for a number of years.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Our figures are a year out of date but look at Watford as an example of investment.

Nothing new probably been done here years ago - make loans to the club at a couple of percent more than baserate.

Clearly this is a limited amount of data, but fans who think all the money has disappeared into certain peoples's pockets, need to realise that whilst the TV money is enormous, so are the wages of run of the mill Premier League footballers. Unless we have and own a bigger stadium with a corresponding fanbase our revenues will always be smaller than most clubs in the Premier League. We cannot afford to make numerous bigger money signings unless we sell other players. This season's figures will likely look a lot worse with managerial compensation packages, new signings that were not for insignificant sums and the income on players sold still being paid in instalments. Sensibly run finances are better than a club with massive debt. I would rather it this way than end up with what Leeds, Bolton, Charlton etc. have had to contend with. We have made serious mistakes with overspending, albeit in a different time in the game, when Struel et al saw the start of our precipitous decline.

Our TV income for 2016/17 is UP £22m provided our wage bill has not increased as well our wage to turnover ratio might improve. Three large wage earners of our wage bill Williams, Ayew and Gommis on loan. Two new on wage bill plus four in January. Need to trim our fringe players. Also need to increase our commercial and match day income.

Poll: Sholud Wales rollout vaccination at full speed.

Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the finances is the comparison with our most closely matched competitors, Stoke, Palace and West Brom - having been in the Premier League broadly similar lengths of time and with similar sized stadia. Compared to these clubs we are spending too much on wages and earning too little from non-TV related sources. This is where the new owners need to show their worth - especially with regard to commercial income. Our shirt sponsorship deals have been pretty poor - at least we could hardly do worse.
