I need to transfer ownership of my late mothers house into my name. I understand I need to populate forms AP1/AS1 in order to achieve this.
But can any legal peeps on here clarify, which is the applicable fee from the drop down list attached?

Is there anything else I need to take into consideration?
Solicitors want £150 plus VAT for completing the transfer, want to evaluate if I can just do myself and save a few bob.

Mate my advice would be to pay a good solicitor to do it. It will be quicker and there will be less chance of it being returned by the land registry |  |

You can do it yourself don't use a solicitor yet .
My Mrs works in land reg , I'll ask her now .

Hi Stark, initially I instructed a solicitor to do it and they totally messed it up. So I instructed them not to proceed and they gave me a full refund.
I completed online forms around April time, was invited to swear oath end of April, which I did on May 3rd. The thing that took the longest was waiting for the tax man to populate their figures and finding.
I got the Grant of Representation through on May 27th, but I did have to chase Tax people via the Probate office (cardiff).
