Who pays the relevant costs (stewarding, police, other staff etc) for a game like this?

Who do you think, my friend ?.

Can't see there being a great need for the coppers.
And hen whatever the lowest recommended stewarding is.

I will be there to support Alan as he has been a great servant who has seen it all with us.

If charities are benefiting from the game, then they should be incorporated in all the marketing communications which may encourage more fans to attend.

I do not know, it is why I asked.

What should have been a positive advertisement campaign for this match, which I do believe is deserved, has been clouded in secrecy. It is a real shame. No wonder the last attempt didn't even get off the ground if this is the sort of planning that was involved.

Have you read Robert Greene's book , the 48 laws of power, my friend ?.
If not look it up.
Law 10, seems to suit your persona.

The vast majority will go no matter where the money is going.
I think Kilkenny calls them happy clappers.

Why presume he's a millionaire? Most of his years were in the lower divisions and on low Championship money when we got to the PL. Most footballers strangely live the high-life as if they'll play forever but something like 80% go bankrupt within a few years of hanging their boots up.

Tatey's not a millionare, unfortunately.

I'd love to see the stadium totally packed out for him.....he's been a massive part in our incredible rise from bottom to top. We could do with more players like him.

Poll: Simple...would you want Leon in the squad right now, if he was available?

I shall be going to the game. Alan always seemed to try to do his best at every level he played for us.

One observation.

Regardless of the amount, any player at any professional level, gets paid for their efforts, which by any measure, is considerably more than minimum wage, why do they have to stop working when their playing career is over and 'make do', on their wedge under the bed?
Especially as the rest of us members of the paying public are being expected to continue working until our zillionth and rising, birthday before getting our heating allowance. Never quite managed to get my head around the thought process.

If he's not then he hasn't invested properly.
He had at least one season from memory on a three year contract in the premier league ahen we were paying 12k a week minimum.
I'm no mathematician but .,,,

Edit - My original point being, he has earned more than enough to be a millionaire.
And if he isn't ....
As I said see above.

Double edit - if players have spent their earnings then it doesn't take away from the fact they had it in the first place.

If a player has earned in excess of 2 million pounds in their career ( and he has ) then testimonials should not be a consideration.

If I could make it, I'd be there just to honour Tate, but having read the list of ex-Swans who will be there, it is even more an attractive event.

I hope all of you who go will get a world of pure enjoyment from the game and other offerings.

I don't care. I'm old. I don't have to.

Anyone know where I can get a pig's head from at short notice?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.
