A confidence player, for sure.
Seemed to improve markedly under Clement - but we still miss Angel's one touch ability and availability to receive the ball.
His versatility to play right and left is very handy though - sometimes he seem more comfortable on the left! |  |

Good news ifs it as back up > nowhere near good enough as 1st choice full back
He has had far to many p1ss poor performance ,constantly beaten, cannot stop a cross coming in, turns his back, offers nothing going forward ( I know he scored against Sunderland)

The key to Naughton's form and indeed the back four is Nigel Gibbs. He was a right back and Kyle clearly improved with his coaching. It was no accident that we only conceded at one corner against WBA once he got hold of the defence, other than that a clean sheet at set pieces.
Good solid pro but we need to add another right back. Naughton's injury really exposed our lack of depth, it was awful seeing Fer playing there.

Would like us to get the lad linked from Barnsley. Anyone who watched a lot of the championship last season has said he was one of, if not the best fullbacks in the league and would likely make the step up. Two footed player who is natural in both fullback positions. 2 mill/1.6 mill + mcburnie on a seasons loan would be enough to get him in his last year of contract, so minimal risk id say. Kyle needs some genuine competition and Rangel isn't able to give that over a season anymore, unfortunately. |  | | |
