Loads of report suggesting it's a done deal at a bargain basement price for such a quality player
If this is the case then someone at the club needs shooting for selling him , especially at that price

Sorry I quoted the wrong post above, should have quoted the following

Can see what's happening here.. we've probably valued Siggy at £32M then realised his true value which is £40M plus.. the club now are valuing Siggy at £50M to save some face and will be sold to Everton for £35M which will be undisclosed so we will not know that for sure bit the board will been seen to force the sale and get best value.

Shame we didn't value Siggy correctly from the start but hey ho... Judas and the board were too busy counting the windfall before its landed."

________________________________________________________________________

If his true value was £40m+ then why would we sell at £35m?! For such an important player the buying club would have to stump up ABOVE his true value for us to sell

Forget about £50m for Gylfi.

I don't mind Cork but if we essentially swapped him for Mesa (plus or minus a few million) then that's verging on pornographic)

Who is going to pay £50M for Siggy? Doubt anyone will but you never know for sure

If Siggy is tempted to go and puts in a request then we could have an unhappy player on our hands.

Then there's a possibility of an undisclosed fee agreed between us and Everton or Leicester which will probably not be £50M but considerably less.

This is the worry for me. We could have a 60m war chest but is our recruiting system up to the task? Will PC have a major role in bringing replacements in or will Jenkins go off on an ego trip and try and prove that he can do it all on the cheap and leave a healthy bank balance? I bet he will try and use a decent slice of any incoming to bolster said balance that was shot to bits during last year's cock ups.

Btw I think Jack Cork is a tidy player, and has had some very unfair criticism aimed at him from some on here.

The money will be invested wisely........problem is', what the fans call "wisely" and what the yanks call wisely won't be the same.

One could say that you questioned the Yanks' definition of the wrong word in that first clause. Your query was about their definition of "wisely," but the far more dangerous definition is theirs about "invested."

We all have learned that one well.

I'm told from a very very good sauce that all what Gylfi had said publicly about being happy and wanting to stay in Swansea is bollox and even though the Yanks have said to him he's not sale they'll sell him for £34/35million.

Seriously though there's a fuçking state on some of our fans,if he doesn't want to play for our great club he's a çunt that can go fuçk himself.

Seems strange to go from signing a four year deal to desperately wanting out in less than a year.

I know we struggled, but we also got 29 points in the 2nd half of the season, and Gylfi was as good as ever under Clement. Guess he doesn't feel the same.

We didn't value Siggy at £30 Million, that was Evertons valuation of the player!

Correct. Let's not forget we've been offered that much before.

Which is why this never made any sense, especially with 3 years left on his contract.

And the fact that the Mesa signing looks like we're looking at quality footballers again - I can imagine Siggy would thrive off another ballplayer.

I'd rather we keep him, but somewhere between £40-£50m would be hell of a temptation for the board I'm sure.

He is a tidy player. But he was played in Leon's position last year for the most part and didn't do it particularly well. Rocky's been bought to do that job so Jack's kind of surplus to requirements.

I imagine that's the logic.

Everton aren't exactly "the highest level" though are they. A higher level yes but not the highest. I thought that after spending a very decent amount on a good CMF that he might have stayed.

No he's gone for more money , not the highest level. I did say that in my opinion a club like spurs or the other top six wouldn't take him didn't I?

I'll remain civil if you do, Bryn, but I vehemently disagree with the broad point you are attempting to make here and so does reality.

Everton finished 7th, just eight points behind Man U, and they were sshitt for most of the season. They didn't have the talent to compete and they still managed to keep it close. But the money they're spending and the quality they're bringing in this summer, yes they will be "highest-level" very, very soon. That would be why Siggy would go there, not money. Everton are playing in Europe next season, which is the "highest-level" whichever way you look at it. Their aim is the CL, and they are absolutely bringing in the class to achieve that.

And if any of these reports are to be believed, then I guess all of them are, right? There are many out there that have stated Pochettino is very interested in bringing Siggy in. Spurs are the "highest-level" you can surely admit that, yes? But Levy is extremely tight-fisted with the budget and they're probably saving up to open the new stadium. So, if they don't come in for Siggy it has more to do with that than any deficiencies on his part.
