I doubt it, it's the fourth day of a test match. It's supposed to deteriorate. South Africa have mostly been the architects of their own demise this afternoon. [Post edited 9 Jul 2017 17:21]

Disagree. Hardly any of this afternoon's wickets have been down to the pitch. It's hardly a crumbling mess.

Uneven bounce and a lot of turn. 19 wickets in two and a half sessions on day 4... Still prefer it to a shirtfront but that wasn't quite a five day wicket.

How many of those 19 can be directly attributed to the state of the pitch? Especially in the Saffers' second innings.

Cricket going well at Lord's on 19:43 - Jul 9 with 576 views | r0ckin | Poor batting from S.Africa. Shame about Wood getting a cameo think it could have been a superb little run chase. The pitch was fine, it was turning but that's what should happen. The problem is for too long pitches have benefited the batsmen too much. Boring seeing flat track bullies, far better to see a century that was genuinely earned.

Difficult to say - once you get it into your head that it can turn sharply and/or keep low you bat differently. A couple of balls in the first over went through to the keeper on the third bounce. That was a day 5 wicket not a day 4.
